QRUnlocked is designed to create QR codes with as little friction—and as little unnecessary data handling—as possible.

QR code content

The text or URL you enter into the QR generator is processed locally in your browser. It is not sent to QRUnlocked for QR-code generation or stored by QRUnlocked.

Cookies and tracking

QRUnlocked itself does not create or store cookies to operate the QR code generator, track the QR codes you create, or remember the content you enter. The QR generator works directly in your browser and does not require an account, login, or user session.

QRUnlocked does use third-party services, including Google AdSense, that may place or read cookies or use similar technologies for advertising, measurement, security, and related purposes. Those technologies are provided and controlled by the respective third-party services, not by the QR code generator itself.

Advertising

QRUnlocked uses Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve, measure, personalize, and report on advertising. This may involve information such as IP addresses, device or browser information, and other identifiers.

Your advertising choices

You can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. You can also learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services on Google’s partner-sites privacy page.

Consent choices

Where required, QRUnlocked uses Google’s consent management platform to present privacy choices concerning advertising cookies, local storage, and the collection, sharing, and use of personal data for advertising.

Optional contributions

If you choose Donate / Join the QRU, you are taken to Stripe to complete the transaction. Payment information is provided to and processed by Stripe under Stripe’s own terms and privacy practices. QRUnlocked does not process payment-card information on this website.

Technical and security data

The infrastructure used to deliver and protect QRUnlocked may process technical information necessary to serve and secure the site, such as IP addresses, request information, browser or device information, and security-related data.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as QRUnlocked, its advertising setup, or applicable requirements change.
